Summary

"The Beauty and the Bolshevist" by Alice Duer Miller is a story that drops us into the early 1900s, where we meet Ben Moreton, a newspaper editor with strong socialist beliefs, who finds himself at odds with his brother David's upcoming marriage to a woman of immense wealth, Eugenia Cord. The story kicks off with Ben wrestling with his loyalty to his oblivious brother, just as he finds out about David's engagement amidst rising tensions with the capitalist society Eugenia represents. Follow along as the story dives into the Moreton family's relationships, the contrasts between social classes, and budding romances, like the one between Ben and Eugenia’s sister, Crystal, laying the groundwork for a tale of love, social expectations, and staying true to yourself in the face of conflict.
