"The Grey Man" by S. R. Crockett is a story placed long ago, during a violent time in Scottish history. It follows a young man named Launcelot Kennedy, who finds himself stuck in the middle of a big, angry feud. On one side are Launcelot's family, the Kennedies of Cassillis, and on the other side are their enemies, the Bargany group. The story kicks off with Launcelot watching his father get involved in a fiery raid on a rival castle, showing him just how serious and brutal these family fights can be. He quickly learns about loyalty, revenge, and how messy things can get when families are at war. As Launcelot grows up, he begins to understand who he is and where he belongs in this broken world, where everyone seems to be fighting for power and revenge.
