Summary

"Delia Blanchflower" by Mrs. Humphry Ward is a story set in England during a time of major social change, and it follows the life of Delia Blanchflower, the daughter of a baronet who recently passed away. The book looks at Delia's experiences as she challenges the roles that society expects women to play and works towards independence. Mark Winnington, a middle-aged Englishman and friend of Delia’s late father, becomes her guardian and is intrigued by Delia's feminist ideals. As Delia strives to live life on her own terms, the book explores the struggle between old traditions and new ideas about freedom and the role of women.
