Summary

"Round the World in Eighty Days" by Jules Verne is an exciting adventure about a very proper English gentleman named Phileas Fogg and his lively French servant, Passe-partout, who bet a large amount of money that they can travel around the world in only eighty days. The story is full of suspense, funny moments, and meetings with different cultures, and it shows how Fogg deals with problems, what time really means, and the great courage he has when things get tough. The book starts by introducing Phileas Fogg, who likes to keep to himself and is always on time, which tells you a lot about him. He lives a very organized and quiet life until he suddenly makes a bet with his friends that he can go all the way around the world in a short amount of time. He hires Passe-partout, who is full of energy and wants a steady job. Because they are so different, their trip is full of surprises.
