Summary

"Adventures of an Aide-de-Camp; or, A Campaign in Calabria, Volume 1 (of 3)" by James Grant is a historical fiction where young Lieutenant Claude Dundas becomes aide-de-camp to Major-General Sir John Stuart as British forces embark on a mission to liberate Calabria from the French in the middle of the 1800's. As the British troops land in a chaotic Calabria, full of war, Claude aims to prove to himself he can handle the imminent conflict between military rivals, as well as romances in the works. This story begins with military tension combined with the picturesque Calabria, and a dangerous allure with encounters between British troops, local bandits all combined with unexpected love.
