Summary

"Daughters of Destiny" by L. Frank Baum, writing as Schuyler Staunton, is a story set in the heart of Baluchistan. At its core are the power plays that exist as Prince Kasam sets forth, fueled by a steely determination, to take back the throne that is rightfully his. Kasam finds himself navigating treacherous political waters while seeking to get the help of influential figures like Lord Marvale in London, all in service of sparking an uprising against the Khans, who threaten his ambitions. Woven into this fight for power, a group of Americans -- among them is Colonel Moore and his daughter Janet -- arrives to shape a railway route, their paths crossing with Kasam's destiny-driven journey. As these plots come together, the story becomes a complex web of loyalties and betrayals, set against a land on the brink of transformation.
