Our Frank and other stories

"Our Frank" by Amy Walton is a collection of short stories that explores the moral world of children in the late 1800s, especially through the eyes of Frank Darvell. He faces challenges like his difficult relationship with his father, which leads him to run away from home one spring evening, causing his parents to worry. His mother feels helpless, after she came back from the market and saw he wasn't home. The stories show the different ways Frank's parents act toward him: his mom is loving and tries to help him out, but his father is harsh, and Frank is soft. The general feel that it has, is that the stories are full of feeling and moral questions about a young boy trying to find his place and feel important in England back in the 1800s.
