Summary

"Heidelberg: A Romance" by G. P. R. James, is a story set in the landscapes of the Neckar valley, about two young Englishmen, William Lovet and Algernon Grey, and their adventures in Heidelberg at the court of the Elector Palatine. The book is about beauty and the exciting life of the court through a historical lens, as the story begins with the travelers amazed by the views of the Heiligenberg before arriving in Heidelberg, where they have different personalities (William is carefree and Algernon is thoughtful.) in their goal to experience the court festivities and they bet to get in without saying they are nobles; there are also many exchanges between the characters that show their different worldviews.
