Summary

"Julia And Her Romeo: A Chronicle Of Castle Barfield" by David Christie Murray is a story set long ago about two families, the Reddys and the Mountains, who have been enemies for generations. Like a tale told by Shakespeare of old, the families can't stand each other. The tale begins in the countryside, where we meet Master Richard Reddy and Julia Mountain, two young people caught in the middle of this family drama that explores love, family loyalty, and what people expect from each other. At first, we see Richard as a boy wanting to end the fighting and be friends with Joe Mountain. But, Richard's friend Ichabod tells him about the sad history of their families. The story shows moments of childhood fun, hinting that maybe Richard and Julia could bring peace, even though their families are still at odds.
