Summary

"The Outdoor Girls of Deepdale; Or, Camping and Tramping for Fun and Health" by Laura Lee Hope is a story about four best friends named Betty, Grace, Mollie, and Amy who start a Camping and Tramping Club one summer after school and decide to go on a fun outdoor adventure. We meet the girls as they giddily walk down a pretty road and learn that Betty is a strong leader, Grace worries about how she looks, Mollie gets angry quickly, and Amy is shy and kind. The four friends become even more curious when they find a five hundred dollar bill with a note from someone in need, and while they plan their trip, the girls also deal with normal teenage problems, friendships, possible crushes, and what they will do on their summer adventure. The beginning of the story introduces a mix of friendship, mystery, and youthful excitement that makes you want to keep reading.
